The Early Years

This adventuring group was formed C.Y. 754 in the Kingdom of Tilth. Its founding members were charged with the task of locating Prince Edmund, who had taken a religious pilgrimage on the eve of his 16th birthday. When his father Halfred was murdered, the prince's life was thought to be in danger and Lord Hollis Sailman, the presiding officer of the Royal Council, commissioned several groups of adventurers to find him.

The group tracked Edmund to a secret tower just across the Laine River, north of the kingdom. They were able to rescue him from Remulus, then the Arch Duke of Muldive. Barely escaping with their lives, and with Edmund's life, they were able to deliver the prince to safety. However, the council was not able openly acknowledge their accomplishments, as they planned to use the adventures in several upcoming dangerous and clandestine missions.

Two years later, the group finally found recognition at the Battle of Southkeep. Edrin's rebellion had failed, and the Col Tilth Garrison, led by Prince Bishop Grellus, Regent of Col Tilth, forced Edrin"s forces into a final battle at Southkeep. The adventurers lead various units, and faced Remulus and Edrin in heroic combat on the battlefield. Edrin and Remulus fell, and Edrin's followers carried his body back into the city, leaving Remulus as the spoils. Before the Col Tilth Garrison could take full control of the Castle at Southkeep, Edrin was raised by a cohort, and he and his most loyal followers fled to the jungles of Mirvia.

Against the Forbidden City

After Edrin fled, the group took on the task of bringing him to justice. After several short adventures in the jungles of Mirvia, they were able to track him to the ruins of the Forbidden City, the former capital of the Ancient Mirvian Empire. He had pledge loyalty to the Dread Lizard, the Daemon Sakathka. For his loyalty, Sakathka had promised to raise a powerful horde to crush the Kingdom. Edrin would rule one way or the other.

Sakathka invaded as promised. The Daemon had formed an alliance with the Drow, who invaded Svarus in C.Y. 757. A horde of Lizard men, barbarian humans and mercenaries from Upper Mirvia were assembling, but the adventurers found Edrin before he could take command of the humans. In a bloody fight in the Citadel of the Forbidden City, Edrin and his cohort were slain. The group also found a member of the Royal Family, Elgin Quellor, who had disappeared threes years earlier, and rescued him.

The group was hailed as heroes upon their return, but despite the loss of his general, Sakathka carried out his invasion and the Dread izard let loose his hordes upon the lands of the humans. His forces ravaged the valleys of the Hargrue and Sargin Rivers, and ranged as far north as the city of Southkeep. They sacked Bor Mahrl and Rastgoth and occupied Southkeep for a time. Sacrificial altars of the Yuan-Ti claimed nearly a third of the inhabitants in each city before the invaders were forced to abandon their cacptured cities in the north.

After having served with distinction in various engagements during the fight against the forces of the Dread Lizard, the adventurers traveled to Svarus with several units of King Edmund's arm; a token force to support the Elves of Svarus. One dawn, the elves left their hidden glens and tree forts and, with the help of the adventurers and the small force at their command, they defeated the drow and took back the great Elven city.

After the battle of Svarus, the adventurers ventured on deeper once again into the darkest jungles of Mirvia. Once more in the Forbidden City they sought out the Temple of the Daemon. After several misadventures, including their capture and rescue from the fighting pits of the Forbidden City, the group found the entrance to the Hidden Temple of the Daemon. With the help of the War-chief of the Elves of Svarus and several of his cohorts, the group entered the temple.

After several bloody adventures, the group confronted the Dread Lizard and slew him, banishing him from the earth for a generation. Their greatest foe vanquished, the group took on their name in recognition of the deed.

With the Elves in control of Svarus once again, and their leader dead, Sakatha"s horde had no will to continue with their invasion. Their Yuan-Ti leaders fled to regroup and to try to re-summon their Daemon Leader. The lizard men suffered in the raw northern winter, and the horde eventually abandoned the invasion, and melted away without much of a fight. For the next year or so, Edmund"s forces spent their time rooting out the remnants of the Lizard Army and consolidating power and rebuilding. His first year as an adult and legitimate king, he annexed Bor Mahrl.

The Slayers had several more important adventures, and were tasked with helping to restore order in the City of Bor Mahl. They arrested a group known as the Collaborators, hated by the population for their cooperation with the Lizard Army during the occupation of Bor Mahrl. Their public execution helped Edmund"s Governor gain acceptance under the difficult circumstances.

The Aftermath

For their efforts, the Daemon Slayers were given ample rewards, each to his own proclivities. Tor Amanil, the group's powerful fighter was granted titles in the Duchy of Muldive, and married the daughter of a baron. He is the sheriff of Northshire, in North County, Tilth. When the Armies of the Draon invaded, he fought several battles alongside Skovin in the north-east portion of the Kingdom.

Agathor used his reputation and the network he created during the occupation of Southkeep to take control of the Guild of Thieves there.

Sir Skovin, a noble warrior who joined the group before the battle of Svarus, took titles in the Barony of Winterholm, in the Grand Duchy of Westkeep, and serves Baron Wilfric as marshal. In later years, he married the widow of the Baron of Blackmoore, and he is Baron Regent while her young son grows to his post. He and Tor helped retake Ford"s stronghold along the Laine River when the Dragon Army invaded.

Quai Gulston, the ranger, serves the Prince Bishop Grellus in Southkeep as the prince"s warden. Although he was also knighted for his efforts, he rarely uses the title "Sir". He covers a very large territory investigating all manner of disturbances in the Southern Principality.

Leopold was given land near his home of Glencove, and established a temple to his god, Stanson. The construction of his large temple attracted enough workers to settle a village, which is named DeLeon. He spent several years seeing his temple established, and recently took up adventuring with the Crew of the Black Dragon.

The Elves of Svarus appointed Tonalil their ambassador to the human lands.
